Question Box Overview

The IncQuery Question box is full of useful features to assist you during survey authoring. This article explains each one.

Note: The example in this article is utilizing a Multiple Choice question. Other question types will have some different features.

#1 - Question number (Q#) - The question number is the most common way to identify a question during the Authoring phase. Note: the question numbers are not shown to respondents they are only for the Authoring and Coding process.

#2 - Status dropdown - Optional setting to indicate the status of a question during Authoring. Choose from In progress, Approved, Needs review, or On hold. Note: this setting does not change the question's visibility.

#3 - Required/Optional - Dropdown menu to choose between making a question required or optional for respondents to answer.

#4 - Question Type - Dropdown menu for selecting the question type. The available question types are c. Note: Custom questions require additional development time.

#5 - Logic (Question level) - This button opens a window where various programming logic can be set. Show/skip logic is available for every question type but the other options available will depend on the question type selected.

#6 - Previous Versions - Complete version tracking, see the history of all the changes in the question throughout the Authoring process.

#7 - Duplicate button - Create a copy of the question directly below it.

#8 - Delete button - Send the question to the deletion Bin at the bottom of the Content page.

#9 - Question text field - Insert your question text here. This text is presented to the respondent.

#10 - Choices table - Add choices for the respondent to pick from. Note: for Number and Text input there are no choices to enter

#11 - Logic Details - Add instructions for the IncQuery team to action. Note: Instruction written here will appear on the Word document if you export it to Word.

#12 - Questions options - Clicking on the gear icon will open and close the options. Each question type has its own set of available options that can affect the way choices are displayed. Some possibilities includes: randomization of the choices, controlling the max/min possible selections and etc.

#13 - Comments thread - Leave comments, questions, or instructions for the Authoring team, including IncQuery and your coworkers. Start typing “@”. Note: If you do not use an English (US) keyboard, please use SHIFT+2 to create the @-symbol.
