Page break Element
Uses and options for the Page Break element
![]() |
The page break element is simple but necessary. The best practice is to display one question per page this is often done because respondents on a mobile device will have difficulty scrolling around the page to complete multiple questions.
Note: There are exceptions to this practice with short follow up questions
Needed for Logic
The page break element is sometimes necessary for logic to work properly. For example, if the display of question #4 (Q4) is based on the results of question #3 (Q3) there will need to be a page break between these questions so that platform can pause, get the submitted answer from the respondent then show or skip Q4 based on that answer.

In the picture above the page break element is necessary because without it IncQuery would attempt to display Q3 and Q4 on the same page but hit an error as the block around Q4 has show/skip logic based on the submitted answers from Q3.
