Soft Launch

In this phase, we do a limited fielding of the survey with real respondents and collect real data. This is the last test of the survey.

On the Overview tab, we set the Max N to approximately 10% of your overall target N. This setting will pause the survey once we reach that number qualified completes. 

Distribution and Connection to Panels

Before we can soft launch we have to understand how the survey is being distributed. The most common approach is through panel vendors such as Dynata, GLG, ROI Rocket, Guidepoint, etc. But you might be sending out the survey to an email distribution list. IncQuery can support various distribution methods even within the same survey.

When working with panel vendors connecting IncQuery to them is very simple, just set up an email thread with all the panel vendors plus your IncQuery Survey Directors (coders). This thread will make project communication easy as we move from Testing/Revising to launching.

Greenlight to Soft Launch

Once you are satisfied the survey is functioning properly, let the IncQuery team know and the Survey Directors will do a final QC on the code before notifying the panels that they can begin testing the survey. Panel testing usually takes 15-30 mins. Whenever you are ready you can give the green light for the panels to launch and once their testing is complete they will soft launch.

Note: Data can be downloaded from the Results tab as it comes in.

Post Launch changes

We can make revisions at any point, but here are few things to keep in mind once data has been collected

  • The survey can not be renumbered. The numbers are not shown to respondents but if you prefer to renumber top to bottom it has to be done before soft launch.
  • If you need to, you can continue to make edits. The IncQuery team will need to review, QC, and publish before they are live for respondents. Please leave a comment on any questions/variables you change after the soft launch.
  • Some post-launch changes could lead to changes in the output table, potentially even splitting the output into different columns with data before/after the change. We can often mitigate these changes with some manual adjustments, which is another reason to leave notes about any changes you make.
  • We can add or change quotas at any point, just let us know what you would like to get set up or updated. Please review the current quotas and maximums on the Results page to confirm they make sense and let us know if you have any questions or other quotas should be set up.
