Screener Section Checks
You can use the following types of checks in your screener section to help ensure respondents are qualified to take the survey and capable of providing high-quality answers.
Overselection
Checks for: Respondents who select a high number of choices in multi-selection questions/instances.
Example: Respondents who selected 9 out of 10 choices in any multi-select question.
Notes: Especially useful in the screening section. Recommended for all multi-select questions; ensure the qualifying choice(s) are concealed among several dummy/non-qualifying choices. The cutoff depends on the question and survey context
Useful for: B2B and B2C surveys
Activities
Checks for: Low-probability responses to a question about activities the respondent has undertaken in the past year.
Example: Flagging responses where someone claims to have purchased a yacht and earned their pilot’s license in the previous 12 months.
Notes: When writing this question, consider adding/editing choices to include the target activity in your list of options.
Helpful for: Mostly B2C surveys
Country Question
Checks for: Inconsistencies between country selection and IP address.
Useful for: B2B and B2C surveys
Company Revenue Number Question
Checks for: Respondents unaware of the expected revenue size in the relevant industry and context.
Notes: Revenue is requested as a number rather than a range.
Helpful for: Mostly B2B surveys
# of Employees Number Question
Checks for: Respondents unaware of the expected number of Full-Time Employees (FTE) in the relevant industry and context.
Notes: The number of FTEs is requested as a number instead of a range.
Helpful for: Mostly B2B surveys
Industry Question
Checks for: Respondents lacking sufficient industry knowledge.
Notes: A list of industries is provided. Qualifying choices should be tagged with "QUAL." If no qualifying choices are selected, the respondent is terminated.

Department Question
Checks for: Respondents lacking sufficient background knowledge.
Notes: A list of departments is provided. Qualifying choices should be tagged with "QUAL." If no qualifying choices are selected, the respondent is terminated.

DM (Decision-Making) Question
Checks for: Respondents lacking sufficient decision-making capacity or background knowledge.
Notes: A list of business processes is provided in a table format, with columns representing an increasing scale of decision-making capacity. Include the target processes among non-relevant processes.
Helpful for: Mostly B2B survey
